The Gnomestead
Working on a commission painting of gnomes. I want to show a bustle of activity around the gnome homestead. Here’s the first rough sketch. It will evolve and grow as I work.

Basically, this painting could be considered a collection of about seven or eight mini paintings. I have to attend to the details of each little painting to make the overall painting work. But it’s so much fun!

Here is the final comprehensive sketch of the Gnomestead painting. I encountered a few compositional problems which were easier to solve at this stage than later when I’m actually painting.
